Hospital & Home Notary Visits — For Parents and Relatives Who Can’t Travel
When a parent or relative in hospital, a care home or at home needs to sign a document for use abroad, we bring a notary public to them. You tell us where and when; we coordinate the visit, stay with the process, and take the signed document through SAL afterwards, so your family can focus on the person, not the paperwork.
Where we visit: hospitals, nursing homes and homes
We visit public and private hospitals, community hospitals, nursing homes and private homes across Singapore. Visits can be arranged around ward routines and visiting hours, including weekends.
Documents families usually need signed
Power of attorney
So a family member can manage property or a bank account overseas.
Power of attorneyDeclarations
For pensions, banks or inheritance abroad.
DeclarationsConsent or authorisation letters
For someone to act on their behalf.
Overseas inheritance documents
Declarations and certified copies for foreign banks or courts.
Mental capacity: what the notary has to be satisfied about
The notary must be satisfied that the person signing understands what the document is and is signing of their own free will. If there is any doubt, the notary may ask questions, talk to the person alone, ask for a doctor’s letter, or decline to proceed. This protects your relative and the document.
Plan for their best time of day
If your relative’s condition varies during the day, tell us when they are usually most alert and we’ll plan the visit for that time.
Overseas power of attorney vs Singapore’s LPA
If your parent may lose mental capacity and you need authority for their affairs in Singapore, the document you probably need is a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), registered with the Office of the Public Guardian — a different process from what we arrange. The documents on this page are notarised documents for use overseas, such as a POA for property in India or China.
