Terms of Service and Disclaimer

1. About these terms
These terms apply whenever you use attestationrunner.sg or engage Attestation Runner (“we”, “us”, “our”) to arrange a notary visit, submit or collect documents, or provide any related service. Our office is at 7 Temasek Boulevard, #12-07 Suntec Tower One, Singapore 038987.
By accepting a quotation, paying any amount, or handing documents to us, you agree to these terms, together with our privacy policy and our refund and cancellation policy, which form part of them. If you accept on behalf of a company or another person, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Our role — and what we are not
We are a document concierge. We arrange appointments with notaries public, carry documents to and from the notary, the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), embassies and couriers, submit and collect them, and keep you updated. We are not a law firm and not a notary public, and nothing we say or publish is legal advice.
Notarial acts — witnessing signatures, administering oaths and declarations, certifying copies and issuing notarial certificates — are performed by independent notaries public appointed in Singapore. Each notary acts in their own professional capacity, is solely responsible for their notarial acts, and may ask questions, request further documents or decline to act. Apostilles are issued by SAL, and legalisations by the relevant embassy. These bodies make their own decisions and we cannot override them.
Signatures, oaths and declarations must always be made by you (or the person concerned) in person before the notary. We never sign, swear or declare on anyone’s behalf.
3. Quotes and starting prices
Prices on our website are starting prices. Your final price depends on the document type, number of pages, visit location and destination country, and is confirmed in a written quotation (by WhatsApp or email) before any work begins. A quotation is valid for 14 days unless it says otherwise.
Each quotation shows official fees — notary, SAL and embassy fees, which are set by law or by those bodies — separately from our own fee. If an official body changes its fee, or the job turns out to differ from what you told us (for example, more pages, more signers or a different destination), we will tell you the revised amount and only proceed with your agreement.
4. Payment
PayNow, bank transfer or card — all online. Card payments may include a small processing fee.
Official fees (notary, SAL and embassy) are paid before we lodge them, because we pay them out on your behalf and the authorities do not refund them. For our own fee you choose what suits you: pay in full upfront, pay a deposit and the balance on completion, or pay in full on completion before your documents are handed back. Companies can settle on a monthly invoice.
Our fees are not subject to GST. Official fees are charged exactly as the relevant body sets them; the SAL fee already includes GST. We may hold finished documents until all amounts due for the job have been paid.
5. Your responsibilities
- Give us complete and accurate information about the document, its purpose, the destination country and every signer.
- Check the overseas recipient’s requirements — the format, wording, translation, apostille or embassy step they want — and send us any written instructions you have. The recipient decides what it accepts.
- Make sure each signer attends the visit with valid photo identification that matches the document, and that documents to be signed are left unsigned.
- Ensure you have the right to hand us each document and that it is genuine and lawfully obtained. We will not handle documents we reasonably believe to be forged, altered or connected with unlawful activity.
- Keep your own copies of anything important before handing originals to us.
6. Timelines
Any timeline we give is a good-faith estimate based on typical processing times. SAL works on working days only, embassies set their own processing times and opening days, and couriers and customs can cause delays. We will always file and collect promptly and tell you of any delay, but we do not guarantee that an official body or courier will complete its step by a particular date, and time is not of the essence unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
7. Your documents in our care
We handle originals under the chain-of-custody process described on our document security page. Finished documents are returned by hand in Singapore or by tracked courier. If you do not collect or give delivery instructions for your documents within 30 days of our telling you they are ready, we may send them by tracked courier to the address we hold for you, at your cost.
Copies of your documents and the personal data in them are kept for 3 days after we deliver your service, then deleted.
8. Limits of our liability
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. Subject to the paragraph below:
- Acts of others. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, decisions or delays of notaries public, SAL, embassies, government agencies, couriers, or any overseas authority, employer, bank, university or other recipient — including a refusal to accept a document that was correctly notarised, apostilled or legalised.
- Content of documents. We do not review documents for legal effect and are not responsible for their content, drafting, translation (other than a translation we supply under a translation combo), validity or suitability for your purpose.
- Information you give us. We are not responsible for loss arising from incomplete or inaccurate information, a signer’s missing or mismatched identification, or a change in the recipient’s requirements.
- Indirect loss. We are not liable for any loss of profit, business, opportunity, contract, employment, visa, property transaction or deadline, or any indirect or consequential loss, however caused.
- Lost or damaged originals. If an original document is lost or damaged while in our custody through our own negligence, we will pay the official fee to obtain a replacement or certified copy from the issuing body and redo our part of the job free of charge.
- Overall cap. Apart from item 5, our total liability for any claim arising from a job, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the amount of our own fee paid for that job, excluding official fees and costs passed through at cost.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Singapore law.
9. Events outside our control
We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including the closure or changed procedures of SAL or an embassy, public holidays, government action, changes in law or in the Apostille Convention, epidemics, severe weather, transport or courier disruption, IT or utility failure, or industrial action. We will tell you promptly and resume as soon as we reasonably can.
10. Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for any loss, cost or claim we incur because a document you gave us was not genuine or not yours to hand over, or because information you gave us was false or misleading.
11. Website content
The information on this website is general information about notarisation, apostille and attestation, prepared with care and checked as at the date shown on each page. Rules and fees change, and requirements differ between recipients, so it is not legal advice and should not be relied on as such. Your quotation sets out the route for your specific document. All content, design and text on this website belong to us and may not be copied for commercial use without our permission.
12. Complaints and disputes
If something has gone wrong, please tell us first at info@attestationrunner.sg or on WhatsApp +65 3129 4104; we aim to respond within one working day and resolve complaints within 14 days. If a dispute cannot be resolved between us, either party may refer it to the Small Claims Tribunals (where eligible) or to the courts of Singapore.
13. General
- These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction.
- A person who is not a party to these terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce them.
- If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- These terms, your written quotation and the policies referred to above are the entire agreement between us for the job. If they conflict, the written quotation prevails for that job.
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page when you accept a quotation applies to that job.
