How it works
How Attestation Runner Works — Five Steps From Quote to Delivery
You tell us what the document is and where it’s going; we tell you exactly what it needs and what it costs; then a notary comes to you or we collect the originals, and we take it through SAL and the embassy until it’s back in your hands. Your part is one message and, if needed, one signature.
Step 1: send us your document details
WhatsApp a photo of the document or use the booking form. We need four things: what the document is, which country will receive it, who has to sign (if anyone), and your deadline. If the overseas recipient sent you written instructions, send those too — they often decide whether you need an apostille, an embassy stamp, or both.
Step 2: get a fixed quote
Within 30 minutes we reply with the route your document needs and one fixed price. The quote lists the official fees (notary, SAL, embassy) separately from our concierge fee, so you can see what is set by law and what is ours. Nothing starts until you accept. See our fees.
Step 3: a notary visit or a pickup
This is where jobs split into two kinds.
VISIT jobs
When you must sign, swear or declare in person — a power of attorney, an affidavit, a statutory declaration, a contract. A notary public meets you at your home, office, hospital or hotel, checks your identity, and witnesses your signature.
Mobile notary visits RUNNER · you don’t need to appearRUNNER jobs
When no signature from you is needed — a Singapore certificate for apostille, certified copies of a degree, ACRA documents. We collect the originals with your letter of authorisation, and you don’t appear anywhere.
What a proxy runner can doStep 4: SAL and, if needed, the embassy
Every document notarised in Singapore is authenticated by the Singapore Academy of Law with an apostille. If your destination accepts apostilles, that is the last official step. If it doesn’t — the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait or Malaysia, for example — we then take it to that country’s embassy for legalisation. You get an update at each stage. Apostille service · Embassy attestation
Step 5: delivered back to you
We hand the finished document to you, or courier it directly to the person or office abroad that asked for it, with tracking. Your originals come back to you the same way. How we look after originals.
VISIT jobs and RUNNER jobs side by side
| VISIT | RUNNER | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Your signature, oath or declaration is needed | Only originals or copies are needed |
| Examples | Power of attorney, affidavit, statutory declaration, contract | Singapore birth / marriage certificate apostille, certified true copies, ACRA documents |
| Your time | 15–30 minutes with the notary, at your place | None after handover |
| What you give us | ID on the day | Originals + letter of authorisation |
What to keep ready before the notary arrives
- Your NRIC or passport (the notary must identify every signer)
- The document, unsigned — signing happens in front of the notary
- Any instructions or templates from the overseas recipient
- For companies: proof that the signer is authorised, such as a board resolution
Timelines you can plan around
Notarisation happens during the visit. SAL’s counter works Monday to Friday, so a document signed in the evening or at the weekend is filed on the next working day, and the apostille is usually issued within 1–3 working days. Embassy legalisation adds its own time — for example 3–5 working days at the UAE Embassy. Express courier abroad typically takes 1–3 working days. We give you the typical time for your specific document before you pay — we never promise dates that SAL or an embassy control. In a hurry? Urgent and weekend notary.
